Poker comes of age on British TV

There’s been poker shown on TV over here for a few years now so why am I saying that it’s coming of age now? Well, previously the coverage fell into two categories. The month of May approaches its conclusion

LifeDrive had sprung back into life after a night on charge, plus I didn’t need to restore it from the laptop. Guess I’d plugged it in just in time! Picked someone up from the airport this morning and delivered them to the station as required – always fun to meet new people and chew the …

What a full day!

Now, don’t get me wrong, my days are rarely empty and idle but not normally as full as today in terms of being with people in various different ways (all of which useful or fun or both). Annoyingly, my LifeDrive refused to power-on this evening. Hoping it’s just a flat battery. Thankfully, nothing had been …

A Moment of Nez

And here it is, your Moment of Nez: Those who assume the worst in other people are, by their very nature, among the most broken of people. Those who assume the best in other people are, by their very nature, among the healthiest of people. – James Ogley, after Jeffrey Stedfast.

GNOME Bug Day

The GNOME Bug Day has been running for about 45 minutes now. Bugs are already getting knocked off the list. I’m looking into our irc:// URL handler and trying to get some info on a Pidgin crasher. I’m sure I and other members of the team will be posting their personal views and progress via …

Planet SUSE RSS

I just fixed the RSS feed for Planet SUSE – I’d made a small error in the template. Took me a while to work it out because it was only triggered by one particular feed as far as I could make out. Still, it all seems to be okay now.

Tuesday morning

A surprisingly productive morning today. I worked through a whole bunch of TODO items relating to the ordination service next month and stuff we’re working on in the leadership team. Still have yet to tidy my study – at some point that’s going to be a morning or afternoon’s single TODO. Looking into web-based calendars …

Into Outer Space?

People keep dropping off of Planet SUSE. Don’t worry, they’re not being assigned to some bizarre Deep Space Inter-Distro mission. What happens is that they embed code in their blogs. Now, of course they do it’s a hackery type site but, because the site uses PHP (in order to be able to do the feed …
